Tiny Bathroom Gets Big Makeover

Who said small can't be amazing?
This tiny bathroom is the sole bathroom in a 700 square foot condo located in an Old Town Alexandria, VA high rise building. The challenge was to create a spacious master bathroom that caters to guests too, without increasing the square footage of the space. As the only bathroom in the condo, it had to appeal to the homeowner's modern style preference, fulfill the need for an occasional relaxing soak, and provide adequate storage while maintaining a hotel-style warmth for visiting guests. All that in a tiny 5' x 8' space.
The solution was to camouflage the soaker tub with large scale porcelain tile that was used along the perimeter walls. We were able to raise the ceiling 12" and ran the wall tile and glass panel all the way to the ceiling. This is always the best design solution for small spaces. Lastly, installing 3 different lighting sources and dual medicine cabinets with mirrors also helps increase the illusion of more space.
Proof that tiny spaces can have big personalities!
